Kjartan FLØGSTAD

Kjartan Fløgstad, né en 1944, est connu en Norvège comme poète, romancier et essayiste. Ancien marin, il est toujours resté proche de la classe ouvrière. Il a par exemple séjourné longtemps à Sochaux. Un de ses livres existe en français, Dalen portland, publié à l’Esprit ouvert. Un autre de ses titres est en traduction pour Fayard. Rappelons ici que la Norvège, dans les années soixante fut de ces pays européens très politisés, avec des intellectuels engagés, trotskistes ou maoistes (Espen Haavardholm p.ex.), des revues littéraires radicales etc.
Kjartan Fløgstad (born June 7th, 1944 in the industrial city of Sauda in Ryfylke, Rogaland) is a Norwegian author. Fløgstad studied literature and linguistics at the University of Bergen. Subsequently he worked for a period as an industrial worker and as a sailor before he debuted as a poet with his collection of poems titled Valfart (Pilgrimage) in 1968.
