Dramaturge et romancière, Patrícia Melo a quitté São Paulo pour la Suisse, où elle vit aujourd'hui avec son mari, le chef d'orchestre John Neschling. À l'exception de O Matador (Albin Michel, 1996), toute son oeuvre est parue chez Actes Sud.
